Maggie Semple

Maggie Semple is CEO and a Director of The Experience Corps Ltd (TEC), and a Civil Service Commissioner.
She was previously Director of the Learning Experience at the New Millennium Experience Company Ltd, Director of Education and Training at the Arts Council of England, a teacher, school inspector and a deputy head teacher.
Maggie serves on a range of Boards including McDonald’s UK Advisory Board and is Chair of NRDC Advisory Committee at the Institute of Education, Chair of Dana Centre at the Science Museum, and Chair of the National Youth Music Theatre. She is a Council member of the City & Guilds Institute, is a Governor of De Montfort University, and the Institute of Education at London University. Maggie is also a Trustee of National Museums of Science & Industry (NMSI), Balance Foundation for Unclaimed Assets, Brit School, Sadlers Wells Theatre Trust, and Arts Educational Schools Trust.
Maggie has served on a number of Government and EU task groups including DfEE National Curriculum, DfEE Widening Participation, DfEE Life-long Learning, and DfES e-learning.
Maggie has extensive experience of working with the public, private and voluntary sectors. In 2000 Maggie was awarded an OBE; in 2001 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from De Montfort University and in 2005 she became a Fellow of the City & Guilds Institute.
